Access Control
The access control system is the basic platform used to implement for the smart card based integrated building management system. Various services i.e. Intrusion, Door Access Control, Car Park, Lift Access, Lift Call, Guard Tour, Time Attendance, CCTV, Public Address, Intercom systems, Photo-ID Badging System, Facilities Booking System, and Building Management System can be integrated together seamlessly into a single systems enabling a single station in a network to control and/or monitor one or more of the services at any one time.
The access control system can work standalone or in a local area network environment. It is designed "ground up" for networking. The system can be configured to meet the most demanding interconnection requirements of any building systems.
The Microsoft Windows NT Server software powers the networked system, which is the most powerful and easy to use network operating system software in the PC market today. Connectivity of the system from 2 to 200 workstations can be configured easily with the Domain based naming and logon system. Remote dial-in connection is possible with the Remote Access Service (RAS) feature of the system connected to the file server via telephone lines and modems. Multiple industry standard protocols are supported namely the TCP/IP, NetBEUI and IPX/SPX providing flexible interconnections to other networks already exist in a building. The routable TCP/IP protocol further adds Wide Area Networking (WAN) capability to the system.
